Bounty Hunter Leveling Guide – 5 Bounty Hunter Leveling Tips Everyone Should Know

I know why you want to play a Bounty Hunter in Star Wars The Old Republic. He has a flamethrower, freeze grenades, flies 10 feet into the air lets out a volley of rockets…and he looks totally badass!

That’s why I wanted to play this class and found it very enjoyable. In the starting areas it’s not that hard but in the higher levels i found myself sometimes a bit lost and this Guide helped me a lot.

There are a few tips that every new player should know to make leveling your Powertech or Mercenary as fast and as stress free as possible.

1. Always bind yourself to a Bind Point Terminal which will allow you to use fast travel. You can fast travel to any point on the map that you have discovered a terminal so use it as often as possible. It has a 30 minutes cooldown.

2. Buy stims with Aim for 5 medpacks of appropriate level. Medpacks can save your life in a tough fight and stims will boost your main stat elevating your damage.

3. On the Imperial fleet visit all 14 crafting trainers. visiting each of them awards you 450 experience points so it’s well worth it. Then you can lear the ones you will use.

4. If your inventory is full you can send your companion to sell grey items. Just click on your companins icon and select Sell Trash Items.

5. At level 25 you can buy your first racer(mount). It will cost you 8000 credits for the racer and 40.000 credits for riding training. Be sure to save enough money as beginning with Tatooine the landscape is huge and quest are far in between so you will profit greatly time wise buying a mount.

Using these tips will improve your leveling experience. I found these tips to speed up my leveling experience and  I have found many more useful tips Swtor Saviour Leveling Guide. I suggest you check it out too and get your Bounty Hunter to level 50 in no time.

Bounty Hunter Leveling Build

Bounty Hunters in SWTOR are one of the most versatile classes to play as you can play it as a healer, tank or dps.

At level 10 you get to choose which advanced class you want to be. You can choose between a Powertech or  a Mercenary. Choose carefully as of now there is no turning back. Powertechs can be dps or tank built whereas Mercenaries can be dps or healers.

What you choose mainly depends on your personal playstyle. Whatever you choose will be just fine for leveling. All three types of builds are viable for leveling and differ in minor dps gains. That being said the problem with the Bounty hunter is that you get your tanking companions very late in your story.

Your first companion Mako is a healer so I found that the best leveling build was a Mercenary specced in the arsenal tree as its main tree. It is a high damage build maximizing dps. Here’s how it looks like at Level 50.

If you interested in other builds like tank, healer and pvp builds then I suggest you check out This Guide where you will find lots of Powertech and Mercenary builds and specs.

SWTOR Bounty Hunter Best Leveling Crew Skills

Crew skills in Star Wars The Old Republic are the equivalent of what in other mmo’s are called professions. In SWTOR crew skills are divided into crafting skills, gathering skills and mission skills. You can have only one crafting skill and one, two or three gathering or mission skills.

Crew skills as the name suggests are done by your companions. You cannot craft yourself anything and you need to get your ship first at around level 16. Then you send your companion to craft anything you like. Same thing applies for mission skills, where you send your companion on a mission.

Gathering you can do yourself but why bother when your companion can gather for you.

So what are the best crew skills for a Bounty Hunter? Mostly those that offer your BH an advantage and are usable trough leveling. useful crafting skills are:

Armstech – you make weapons and upgrades that you can use

Armormech- you make armor you can wear

Cybettech – you make earpices and mods

Biochem -  you make stims and med packs that can buff and heal you

Here is a list of the best 3 combinations around a specific crafting skill.

Armstech, Scavenging, Tresure Hunting

Armormech, Scavenging, Underworld Trading

Cybertech, Scavenging, Underworld Trading

Biochem, Bioanalysis, Underworld Trading

If you feel that you are running out of credits all the time and want to know which crew skill will make you super wealthy check out Swtor Saviour’s Guide. And if you don’t find it useful you get a 60 days no questions asked 100% refund :) .

Best Bounty Hunter Leveling Companion

Companions are in Star Wars the Old Republic one of the most cool additions to the MMO world.
They offer you support, sell your junk, gather for you and do your crafting.
As a Bounty Hunter you will get five companions through your story questline:

Mako – You get her on Hutta. Healer/range DPS companion, her main stat is Cunning, uses a blaster pistol, and wears medium armor

Gualt – You get him on Tatooine. Ranged DPS companion, main stat is Cunning and primary weapon is Blaster Rifle.

Torian Cadera – You get him on Taris. Melee dps companion Main Stat is Aim and uses a Tech Staff.

Skadge – You get him on Belsavis. Melee tank companion, main stat is Aim and he uses a Vibrosword

Blizz – You get him on Hoth. Ranged tank companion, main stat is Aim and uses a Blaster Pistol.

You also get a droid on your ship, but he is not exclusive to Bounty Hunters.

Mako

So which one is the best for leveling? It really depends on your Advanced Class choice and your play style. For me Mako was my favourite companion as I had the least downtime while leveling. She is also super cute and has a great voice actress. Unfotunally you get Blizz only on Hoth who is my second favourite companion.

Remember that you can change the appearance of your companions with customization kits which cost 12.500 credits. For Mako you will get 3 customization options for free(I chose the third one…super cute).
